Elevating Advocacy: A Successful Evening of Professional Connection and Purpose

Fostering community unity through education, advocacy for patients and plants, and efforts to eliminate stigma.

A Groundbreaking Event for Cannabis Nursing

Last Friday, a groundbreaking event took place at a local veteran-owned and operated dispensary, organized and hosted by our cannabis nursing community’s own, Alicia Schaal. Nurses currently working in the cannabis industry welcomed other curious nurses into the fold under the beautiful backdrop of The Warriors Garden Hemp and Wellness.

Veterans and Cannabis: A Powerful Alliance

As a veteran, Nick regularly opens his shop for others, hosting a weekly comedy show and mixer. A portion of the show proceeds and shop sales go towards supporting Warriors Next Adventure, a 501(c)(3) hotline dedicated to preventing veteran suicide. The organization also provides recreational therapy and life coaching for veterans dealing with PTSD and other mental health issues.

Notably, Alicia Schaal, CEO of Midwest Cannabis Professionals, stood out as a fierce advocate for the plant, patients, and veterans. From organizing events to speaking at local dispensaries, Alicia has been instrumental in educating communities as Minnesota prepares for adult recreational cannabis use next summer.
